6 month contract Toronto, ON - (Hybrid 1-2 days in office)

TTP has an exciting 6 month contract opportunity for a Sr. Developer for our financial services client located in Toronto.   Details below:

Role:

The Sr. Developer will analyze, design, develop, and support software solutions and contribute significant technical knowledge to relatively complex IT projects.

Responsibilities:

• Complete well-designed systems of high quality that make appropriate use of technology.
• Develop personal plans and the task detail appropriate for completion of an acceptable volume of work and for the communication of status
• Responsible for maintaining currency in technological trends and directions; continually upgrading personal, technical, and IT related skills through research, education and self‑motivated technology experimentation.
• Participate and lead in new technology investigation and make recommendations for new technology adoption where appropriate
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert in cloud development and best practices. Emphasis on Azure Kubernetes Service, .NET Core, Dapr, CI/CD, Automated Testing, Containers and Docker
• Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of business solutions with the following: Visual Studio (C#, .NET, .NET Core), Python, PL/SQL, Oracle 19c, MS SQL Server, Azure SQL Server
• Lead technical projects and act as mentor to junior development staff

 Qualifications and Skills:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing Web and API-based technologies on .NET or .NET Core related technologies
• 3+ years of project experience in software design and development on Azure with emphasis on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) enabling capabilities such as Messaging, Identify Management, State Management, Observability, etc
• Deep understanding of Containers (Docker), Orchestrators (Kubernetes), Helm Charts
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Containers (Docker, Kubernetes), Unit Testing Frameworks, Modern Web Programming (NodeJs, Angular, React, .NET Core, Python ), Dapr , Code Versioning and Integration (GIT, GitHub), and Security (Standard web security, Single Sign-On, and web service security using security tokens)
• Excellent communication skills required for interactions with people of varying levels of technical expertise
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience with exposure to the full project life cycle – from conception to completion, including formal change management concepts/procedures
• Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent working experience
• Practical experience in the financial industry is an asset
